RCO Application Webinars: Learn How to Apply

Happy 2022! The Recreation and Conservation Office (RCO) is kicking off its application cycle with a Webinar on February 17 from 9-10 a.m. followed by Q&A breakout sessions with grant managers from 10-10:30 a.m. You won’t want to miss it if you are thinking of applying for a grant for your outdoor recreation or habitat conservation project!
The Webinar will include information about the grants offered, eligibility requirements, deadlines, program changes for 2022, and how to apply for a grant. We will focus on the following grant programs with a May 3, 2022, due date:
- Aquatic Lands Enhancement Account (ALEA)
- Boating Infrastructure Grant (BIG)
- Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF)
- Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program (WWRP) (WWRP Habitat; WWRP- Recreation)
- Youth Athletic Facilities (YAF)

If you cannot attend the Webinar, please register anyway. RCO will send you a link to the recording after it is posted on RCO’s Web site.
We will open PRISM Online for applications on February 17. When you start your grant application, RCO will assign an outdoor grants manager to work with you. Click here to find your grants manager now.
What’s New for 2022?
Staff is updating RCO’s Web site, Applicant To-Do Lists, policy manuals, and other resources. Here are some of the changes:
- To access PRISM, applicants must have a SecureAccess Washington account and a one-time double sign-in.
- PRISM now includes a cultural resources mapping tool.
- PRISM has a separate sponsor match data page.
- Review and evaluation meetings will be virtual-only.
To find grant information and see other key changes for this year, view the At a Glance page in the 2022 grant program manuals. You may click on the program links above, or click/hover on the Grants tab at the top of the RCO Home Page and select the grant program you are interested in.
NOTE: Updated Applicant To-Do Lists, 2022 program manuals, and other application resources for the Spring programs will be posted by February 17, 2022.
Additional Webinars
A separate and more detailed application Webinar will be offered on February 22 from 2-3:30 p.m. for applicants interested in WWRP Farmland, WWRP Forestland, and the Community Forests Program (CFP).The application deadline for these programs (categories) is May 3, 2022.

Another application Webinar is set for August 10, for the following grant programs with applications due November 1, 2022:
- Boating Facilities Program (BFP)
- Firearms and Archery Range Recreation (FARR)
- Nonhighway and Off-road Vehicles Activities (NOVA Education and Trails)
- Recreational Trails Program (RTP)
NOTE: Updated Applicant To-Do Lists, 2022 program manuals, and other application resources for the Fall programs will be posted in March.
