Greetings Special Park District Leaders,

I hope this email finds you healthy and well during this difficult time.  We have heard from many of you about the extraordinary work you are doing on behalf of your community.    We know that special park districts are in a difficult place with respect to the ability to receive funding while still facing the challenges that COVID-19 has brought.

NRPA has drafted a memo that will provide you additional information about the federal response along with a letter that we plan to send to federal leaders on behalf of special park districts.  This letter asks for equitable treatment when funding is provided.

We would like to have the letter co-signed by special park districts from across the country.  Please review the letter and visit this page to add your special park district:

Deadline for signatures: Thursday, April 30th, Noon ET.

I know many of you have networks of other special park district leaders that you speak to and share information.  Please share this email and documents with them and encourage other special park districts to join the letter.  When the letter is completed and I have sent it to Congressional leaders, I will share with everyone who signed on and provide information for sharing with your member of Congress.  We will also be sharing on our social media channels.

As always, I’m happy to answer questions you might have on this.

Take Care,

Kyle Simpson
