Working with Special Populations

Tuesday, September 29 | 8:30 - 9:45 a.m.
Speaker: Baly Botten

Description:

Aquatic therapy for an individual with any delay or disability, on all spectrums, can be beneficial to their well-being. Having base line knowledge of multiple special needs can reiterate already present techniques and better prepare the instructor if they have a special needs individual in their class. This seminar will feature information on the benefits of aquatic therapy, basic level training for teaching an individual with special needs in the water, and valuable ideas that may enrich your already existing programs.

During this hands-on seminar, Baly will explain and demonstrate the strategies he uses for conducting effective in-service trainings focused on the special needs of children with developmental delays and disabilities. Training to provide care and instruction for differently abled customers will renew and strengthen your staff’s skills overall. By adding this specialty to your service offerings you will expand the population of customers you will be able to serve.
