Private donations can help offset budget shortfalls for parks and recreation programs and projects. However, acquiring private donations is not as simple as putting a "donate" button on your department’s website. There is a growing correlation of the role that parks and recreation play in the health, economic strength and future vitality of communities. Having the correct messaging and strategies for raising private contributions is key in today’s fundraising environment. The speakers will review the basics of fundraising, along with various avenues to start bringing private dollars in for support of public parks. The speakers will review the importance of partnering with groups that have a C3 distinction.
