Spend the day developing the leadership and teamwork skills that are necessary to maintain a safe aquatic environment. Morning and afternoon sessions will be spent working in the pool while the mid-day session will be spent in the classroom learning about the characteristics needed to be a good leader. There are full and half-day registration options. Space limited.

Water Session 1: Developing Confidence in the Deep Water Facilitated by Tony Tronfinczuk
Developing confident deep water skills is crucial to having successful saves in deep water. In this workshop, we will learn how to use effective communication skills to become great leaders and team players while building confidence in our lifeguarding skills. This is a comprehensive, practical in-water skills session with the opportunity to progess in these skill areas.

Classroom Session: Servant Leadership: Does it really work? Facilitated by Greg Schmidt
Leadership is motivating a group of people to successfully act towards achieving a common goal. Creating an aquatic team that has strong and positive leadership is crucial to having a safe and successful operation. During this session, Greg will lead a discussion titled Servant Leadership; Does it really work?

Water Session 2: Putting Strong Leadership and Teamwork Skills Together in the Water Facilitated by Tony Trofinczuk
We will start the session working on our Shallow Water skills and then use the leadership and teamwork skills that we learned throughout the day to apply them to full lifeguarding scenarios. During the scenarios, we’ll see how effective communication between each other is key to a successful save, but also, as a team, work through any unforeseen issues that could arise.
