Happy Trails: Everett’s Approach to Cleaning Up Encampments

Session Description:

Our region has experienced an explosion of transient activity and homelessness in the past decade. In this session, participants will dive into how the City of Everett Parks and Community Services Department has handled this complex issue, including the lessons learned and policies put in place to manage homeless encampments. 

  • Knowledge for the importance of having a set policy when it comes to encampment cleanups.
  • Learn different ways to collect data around camps.
  • Learn how to use data and policy to reduce the time a camp is active.

Speakers:

David Green, Park Ranger Supervisor, City of Everett

About the Speakers:

David has been an urban park ranger for over five years. In his current position David supervises two full-time park rangers and up to 15 seasonal employees. City of Everett park rangers hold a limited commission and answer a wide variety of calls within the parks and around the city.
