Description: Most public employers expect employees to provide exceptional customer service. Indeed, effective customer service is essential to the sustainability of the public employer, but the limitations placed on public sector customer service employees pose unique challenges not faced in the private sector. In this seminar, designed for front-line customer service providers and their supervisors.

Speaker Bio: Janice Corbin

Janice Corbin has over 28 years of human resources experience. She worked as a Labor Relations Manager for the International Harvester company before joining the Seattle Police Department. In her 22 years with the Seattle Police Department, Janice worked for 14 years in human resources with the last 6 years as the Assistant Chief responsible for managing a full service Human Resources Bureau. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology and Education from Urbana University and several hours of post graduate work.

Speaker Bio: Janet May

Janet May has over 20 years of experience in the labor and employment law field, and has represented both management and labor. She has worked for Bogle and Gates law firm, Washington State Nurses Association, Seattle City Attorney’s Office, and the Seattle Police Department. Janet received her Bachelor’s Degree in Finance and graduated Summa Cum Laude with a law degree from the University of Washington.
