ATTENTION STUDENTS! This is your one stop spot for all information you need to know about the 2017 Annual Conference! We want you to join us for three days of fun, education, networking, and the experience of a lifetime! Check out the conference flyer to learn more!

Here is a guide that should answer your questions about this conference and why you should attend:

WHAT: The 2017 WRPA Annual Conference and Student Pre-Conference.

WHEN: Student Pre-conference activities will be held on May 2, with conference sessions starting the morning of May 3rd.

WHERE: The conference will be held at the Davenport Grand Hotel. The Student Pre-Conference activities will be held at the Finch Arboretum, located at 3404 W Woodland Blvd, Spokane, WA 99224. NEW! Check out the War on the Wagon happening Tuesday, May 2nd at 4PM!

WHY: Socialize with current professionals in the field and students from other universities. Attending provides a great networking
opportunity and conference sessions are a great way to learn the new trends hitting the Parks & Recreation scene.

Q: How much does it cost and what do I get out of it?
A: Students can register for only $55!!! This includes: the student pre-conference, attendance at BOTH days of conference, lunch all three days, and a one-year membership to WRPA! Don't miss your chance to sign up - registration closes April 25th!

Q: That is so cheap! What is the catch?
A: In turn for subsidizing the student rate, all students will be asked to volunteer. This will include: helping at registration desks, collecting tickets to the awards banquet, being room hosts, and a few other random jobs. Nothing too difficult and it will not take away from you attending the conference.

Q: What is the Student Pre-Conference?
A: This is a day dedicated to you. Professionals from the Student Connection Committee are planning a day of fun and education. Activities will include: volunteer training, professional development, leadership skills, mock interviews, resume reviews, mini job fair, plus fun and games! This day will tell you how to break into the field, allow you to network with current professionals and other students, and maybe even land a summer job/internship! Trust us, you will not want to miss this!

Q: What is the conference all about/why should I attend?
A: This is the largest gathering of parks and recreation professionals in the state. You will get to network, make connections, attend educational sessions, and have fun. Educational sessions cover a variety of topics including: park planning, trending programs, risk management, leadership/professional development, and many other topics.

Q: Ok, I am in! Where do I register?
A: Follow these steps to register!

Q: I have a few other questions, who do I ask?
A: You can email any of the SCC members listed on the conference flyer. You can contact the SCC chair, Carissa Ware, at [email protected] or 509.625.6208 (w)
