About the Webinar

Data-driven decision-making is a core value of many Parks and Recreation agencies, but when resources are low and demand for analytics is high, how does an organization balance adaptable and organized data systems for a program's operational decisions, streamlined and standardized reporting for leadership, and accessible and transparent metrics for public and outward communication? In this presentation, representatives from Data Analytics and Marketing teams will spotlight how Parks Tacoma leverages a dynamic data fabric comprised of a variety of data sources, integration tools, governance, and metadata, and analytics to understand how parks/facilities are used, popular services, and by what measurable outcomes we are upholding our values. Additionally, they will introduce a sample training framework that embeds data literacy at every level of the organization, ultimately empowering staff to interpret, apply, and act on insights with independence and confidence.

Learning Objectives

  • The participant will be able to correlate data integrity and the impact transparency has on building trust with key stakeholders.
  • The participant will be able to compare dashboard features that distinguish the intention of an internal or external audience.
  • The participant will be able to activate interdepartmental conversations regarding publication of data for distinct user groups.
