King County Directors MeetingButch Lovalace with King County will be presenting a research study that they plan to be underway with by November of this year. The Aspen Institute, a think tank out of DC, started the Project Play initiative in 2015 and has partnered with a few regions across the US to do a State of Play report evaluating the availability, accessibility, quality, and distribution of programs, parks, and facilities for youth to engage in physical activity. The Land Conservation Initiative (LCI) has begun, following the successful passage of legislation this summer by the King County Council. Ingrid Lundin with King County will be providing next steps and strategy going forward. There are some new and exciting opportunities that you will want to know about. Specifically, Ingrid will be providing new information about several implementation steps that provide a new opportunity for open space acquisition funding next year:
