The COVID-19 pandemic has affected our personal and professional lives in many ways that we may not recognize. In the context of a disaster cascade, finding the mental, emotional, and other resources necessary to feel resilient is more challenging than ever before. Working through emotional, cognitive and interpersonal difficulties is important at home and at work. Leaders and team members alike have unique opportunities to help others navigate their experiences while also taking care of themselves. 

Learning Objectives:

  • Strategies for reducing burnout, compassion fatigue, and moral injury, and improving healthy boundaries and communication skills in the face of hardened opinions and strong feelings. 
  • Healthy and effective communication techniques that support recovery from a large-scale disaster
