Passionate Professional: Rick Bruya

For more than 30 years, Rick Bruya dedicated his career to creating safe, positive youth sports programs for families in Auburn, Washington. A Recreation Coordinator and longtime Certified Youth Sports Administrator, he is retiring Dec. 31 after joining the City of Auburn in 1992.

Bruya takes pride in building programs so meaningful that former participants now enroll their own children. He credits collaboration, parent-focused perspectives, and strong coach support as keys to success, along with the training and consistency provided by NAYS.

As he retires, Bruya leaves a lasting legacy: intentional, child-centered youth sports can shape lives and strengthen communities far beyond the game.
