Recreation and Conservation Office (RCO) Advisory Committee Recruitment Underway

Volunteers Needed to Evaluate Grants for Boating, Shooting Ranges and Trails


OLYMPIA –The Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office (RCO) is looking for volunteers to evaluate grant proposals for boating, shooting facilities and backcountry trails.

RCO is looking to fill vacancies on four advisory committees that will evaluate and rank grant proposals this fall and winter for recreation around the state. Volunteers with expertise in project design or management, landscape architecture, planning, engineering, permitting or property acquisition especially are encouraged to apply. Volunteers serve 4 years. Applications are due August 1.

The following volunteers are needed:

  • One local government representative and one citizen with 4x4 recreation experience is needed for the Recreational Trails Program, which provides grants to maintain or rehabilitate trails and facilities in the backcountry. Volunteers should have a statewide perspective on trail recreation. To apply, fill out the volunteer application form on the Recreational Trails Program Advisory Committee Web page.
