The forums are a WRPA member benefit for the park and recreation professional community.  Its a great place to ask questions and share information.  Before you get started here is some information you might find helpful on how to use your profile, and how to post on the WRPA forums.

Logging In and Out
You will need to log in to the WRPA website in order to view the forums, comment or start a new topic.  To log in, simply click the Log In link at the top left of the WRPA home page. 

Starting a New Topic
The forum is divided into three areas:  General - covering topics on community happenings, trainings and membership; Sections - covering topics specific to Administrators, Aquatics, Athletics/Fitness, Facility, Park Resources, Program, and Teens; and Groups - covering topics related to marketing and students.

To start a new topic, select the area that best fits your topic.  For instance, if your topic is asking about ADA regulations related to power driven devices on public trails, you should enter the Administrator Section of the forum.  Click on the "Add New Topic" link on the page.  You will be prompted to enter a "Subject" that identifies your topic and provided a message box to post your question or announcement.  Using the above example of ADA regulations a good subject would be "ADA regulations related to power driven devices on trails."  A good message would be something like this: "How are you all dealing with the new ADA regulations (effective 3/15) allowing power driven devices on public trails for persons with disabilities?"

You also have the options of adding attachments, providing tags, choosing from our pre-loaded categories or include a smilies for extra emotion on your message.

Posting a Reply
As you browse the forums we encourage you to post replies on the topics you have helpful suggestions and answers.  So that we can keep the forums as user-friendly as possible, please stay on topic by reading the original post carefully. If you don't have anything useful to add to a discussion, please move on to the next topic.

If you want to engage in a one-on-one conversation with another poster, send a private message rather than reply to their comment on the message board.

Create your Profile (optional)
Find the "My Profile" link on the right top above the first gray bar.  Click the Edit button to enable input in the "About Me" tab.  Your Avatar can be a photo or a graphic.  Click the browse button to located an avatar on your computer to upload.  Use the "My Preferences" tab to adjust some of the forum settings. 

Community Guidelines
Stay on topic:  Make your contribution relevant to the original post.

Be polite:  Comments that contain inappropriate language, harshly criticize, or disrespect others' opinions are not allowed.

Report violations:  Inform the webmaster so that appropriate action can be taken.

Do not advertise or post fake reviews:  Proposing transactions or promoting your website for financial gain or other marketing intent is prohibited.

Please return regularly to review our rules and guidelines for periodic updates.

At our discretion we reserve the right to monitor all interactions between you and other community members.

We reserve the right to discipline or ban any community member for violating the rules, guidelines, and/or spirit of our community.
