The Young Professional Award recognizes up and coming future leaders in the professional. They must possess the qualities and talents that will result in their assuming top leadership roles in the future.
Nominees must be 35 years old or younger as of June 30, 2012. They must be a member of WRPA and have a minimum of 5 years experience in the field of parks and recreation.
Nomination deadline: Midnight, February 24, 2012.
Criteria:
- Experience in parks and recreation field
- Professional accomplishments and affiliations
- Demonstrated effective leadership skills and specific abilities
- Contributions to parks and recreation and at what level
- Innovation
- Letters of recommendation
Application requirements:
- Only WRPA members are eligible to nominate qualified candidates. Membership will be verified and nominations by non-members will be disqualified.
- Each award nomination must be accompanied by a clearly and completely filled out nomination cover sheet and nomination questionnaire.
- Professional award nominations must include no more than 3 letters of recommendation. Please note maximum page requirement is 5 pages. Exceeding maximum page requirements may be cause for rejection.
Nominations are eligible for only one category.
No fee for professional awards.
Nominations should include a photo or electronic artwork for program or presentation purposes. (tif, jpeg or pdf are preffered)
